The Tribunal intends to commence public hearings on 01 February 2022 at 12 noon in respect of term of reference (p), the complaint of Retired Sergeant William Hughes (formerly assigned to Swords Garda Station between 2002 and 2013) in Castle Hall, Dublin Castle.
The Tribunal will seek to conduct these sittings in as safe an environment as possible for all participants including those working in Castle Hall. The Tribunal therefore plans to implement all current Government Covid 19 guidelines in respect of anyone attending the upcoming hearings.
Please note that:
1. Subject to numbers, it may not be possible for all parties to attend in the main hearing room at certain times and the Tribunal may request parties to use an anteroom where video and audio facilities will be available.
2. Any person should not attend the hearings if he/she is experiencing Covid-19 symptoms, has tested positive for Covid-19, has been directed to restrict movements or is awaiting the results of a Covid-19 test.
3. All persons attending will be required to wear a face covering at all times unless they are addressing the Tribunal and will exercise good respiratory and hand hygiene and practice social distancing.
4. The Tribunal will facilitate legal representatives /witnesses who wish to participate remotely at the hearings. Such persons should inform the Tribunal solicitor at [email protected] as soon as possible but no later than 24th January 2022 so that the necessary arrangements can be made.
Please note that the Tribunal will not be sitting on 23rd February 2022.
